El Rufai mourns the death of his former deputy
Yusuf Bala Barnabas (Bantex) former Kaduna state deputy governor is dead
Mallam Nasir El Rufai, the governor of Kaduna state, has expressed his condolences on the death of his former deputy governor, Barnabas Yusuf Bala.
The governor described Yusuf Bala Barnabas as a dear friend and a partner in a statement issued on Sunday in Kaduna.
“In Bantex, I lost a close friend and colleague in the service of Kaduna State. “In the midst of difficult times, I was deeply saddened to learn of the departure of my friend and brother, His Excellency Barnabas Yusuf Bala (Bantex).”
“From our days as undergraduates in the 1970s to our practice as professional colleagues in the construction industry and eventually partners in a governance project,” the Governor said, “Bantex was consistently a dependable man of brilliance and imagination.”
He believed in our state’s potential and in the ability of our people to work together to achieve progressive goals.
In 2015, we collaborated to provide new leadership for Kaduna State.
During our first term, he brought his unique insights as a politician with experience navigating our state’s diversity to his duties as Deputy Governor. Bantex exuded hope and optimism about our state’s future, even when the circumstances were bleak.
Yusuf Barnabas Bala (born 1956) was a Nigerian politician, architect, and former deputy governor of Kaduna State. He was the founder of the architectural firm Bantex consortium and the former Kaduna state chairman of the ruling political party APC.
Prior to becoming Deputy Governor, he had served the people of Kaduna State in a variety of capacities. He serfed as a delegate to the 1994 Constitutional Conference. He was chairman of the Kaura Local Government Council. Barnabas Bala was also a member of the House of Representatives for the Kaura Federal Constituency, he was a shining example of representative democracy.
We will miss his brilliance and dedication to Kaduna State, as well as his easygoing demeanor, sense of humour, and firmness in his convictions.
He went on to say that despite his failing health, Barnabas Yusuf Bala served the state zealously. The Governor added his former deputy would be properly buried. “We will work closely with his family to give a fitting farewell to a man who gave so much to this state despite being hampered by sickness.”
Gorvenor El Rufai stated that he had spoken with his family and conveyed the government and people of Kaduna State’s condolences.
We consider ourselves fortunate to have known and worked with Bantex. We beseech God to grant him eternal rest and to console his wife, children, and entire family during this time of grief and loss.
