Arsenal has agreed to pay £50 million for Brighton center-back Ben White. In June, the Gunners had a £40 million deal rejected, followed by a £47 million offer.
According to Sky Sports News, the 23-year-old English international, who plays for Brighton & Hove Albion in the English Premier League, will have his medicals when he returns from vacation on July 26. Arsenal is said to have had a £40 million bid rejected in June, with a further £47 million bid rejected.
However, it appears that the two Premier League clubs have reached an agreement.
After leaving Southampton in 2014, White moved to Brighton, where he made his impact after loan spells with Newport County, Peterborough United, and Leeds United.
Ben White appeared in 36 Premier League games for Brighton in the 2020–21 season, receiving the club’s player of the year award. He also helped Brighton avoid relegation and finish 16th in the Premier League with the league’s joint-best defense in the bottom half (46 goals conceded).
Ben White included in England’s Euro 2020 squad after an impressive performance in the EPL.
With many members of Arteta’s squad underperforming last season, Arsenal are trying to strengthen their defense.
After finishing seventh in the Premier League and losing out on European football for the first time since the 1994-95 season.
Exits are also on the horizon, with Matteo Guendouzi and William Saliba already on loan.
