Nigerian Army honours late Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru
Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has commissioned a newly constructed office accommodation at Joint Task Force, North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.
This was made known in a statement signed by Brigadier Onyema Nwachukwu, the General Director Army Public Relations.
According to the military authority, the COAS has directed that the new facility be used to provide appropriate offices to meet the demands of the Joint Task Force, North East, Operation HADIN KAI’s recent expansion and restructuring.
He went on to say that the facility will make it easier for staff officers and administrative staff to carry out their duties in the theatre.
The complex was christened after the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, to honor his contribution and sacrifice to the upliftment of the Nigerian Army, according to the COAS.
Late Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru, former Nigeria’s chief of army staff, died in an air crash while on an official trip to Kaduna State.
According to Major Suleiman, the cantonment maintenance officer, the structure can accommodate eight staff officers and other support staff. Six medium-sized en-suite offices, two executive-size en-suite offices, two Personal Assistants’ offices, and two administrative staff offices make up the new office space.
